Architectural salvage design using an old shop interior as the basis for re-fitted kitchen.

This project involved re-fitting a salvaged newsagent shop interior (Oak / Oak veneered particleboard. circa 1950's) into a domestic kitchen. This required reconfiguring existing ready-made elements around contemporary appliances and crafting new cupboard and shelf features from salvaged and new material. We provided design and installation of a concealed and zoned down-lighting concept that incorporated existing glass display panels. We also fabricated worktop surfaces from salvaged school science-lab benches (Iroko, circa 1960's), incorporating inlaid granite plates, and contemporary sink and taps within a bespoke routed draining board.
